We're typically artificial tree people, but for the last couple of years we've tried real trees.
We've lived in the Northwest for the past 10 years and the trees here are hard to beat.
Beautiful!
It was hard to find one we ALL agreed on.
We walked the entire lot to find just the right one.
"How 'bout this one, Mom?"
Mom liked this one.
We ALL agreed!
Let the fun begin...
...and, the work, everybody wanted to help saw.
Dad was enjoying the "help".
Shake the tree to be sure we leave all the critters behind.
It's a wrap.
Now, to get it on top of the car.
Let the decorating begin!
What kind of tree does your family like, artificial or real?
We are artificial tree folk! I have the prelit one because I despise wrapping lights. I am so anal about it that it isn't any fun! I did have two chunks of my prelit tree go out so I did have to wrap lights this year. Ughhhh... I would love to have a real tree, but we are gone so much, I am afraid of coming home to a dead tree with thousands of needles everywhere! I think we will have one one day though! I just love to see trees on top of people's cars as they drive home with them! Yours is a beauty! Can't wait to see it all lit up!
ReplyDeleteWe have a Costco tree. For years we would go out just like you and cut the real tree and bring it in and it was wonderful with the young children, making memories. We realized I always got sick days later. Every Christmas I had bronchitis and breathing problems. We figured out it was probably mold or tree 'fragrance' or pine needles. Two years ago we purchased a prelit Costco tree and it is beautiful and nice and not messy and I am not sick, my grand daughter say's its plastic. But I like it.
ReplyDeleteOne year we even had a tree 'hatch' baby spiders all over our wall LOTS of babies scurrying all over the walls. We don't have to worry about it now.
We do both! We always go to the tree farm and pick out a real tree (post to follow soon) but I also have 6 other artificial trees.
ReplyDeleteOnly real trees here. Love them. Reminds me of my childhood. Yours is gorgeous and will be more so once decorated. But I do love to have it just with the lights for a couple of days. They are pretty all by themselves.
ReplyDeleteREAL all the way! We go just like you did and all the kids try to saw! Such a fun time picking out that one special tree! Your kids will always treasure the memories too! Thanks for sharing.
