Receipt Organization

I'm a bit of a receipt junky! I've been known to buy things for the home, live with them
for several weeks, and then decide they're not working.  The search for the receipt begins,
so I can return the item.  This is what my old receipt stash looked like.

Needless to say, I've lost some receipts.  I needed a better system.
I got out the love of my life my label maker and found some old filing cards.

This box was the perfect size.

I'm keeping the receipt box on the kitchen desk for quick access.

How do you keep up with your receipts?

  1. So organized! I dump them all into the same "project" folder typically. This is a great idea. Stop by for a giveaway if you get a moment!

  2. Oh, I need to do this! My receipts are in random places in my purse and the children get into them all the time! I love your new header!

  3. What?! You mean receipts aren't supposed to be crumpled wads in the bottom of your purse? I love my label maker, too, and really need to make one of these little files. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Wow, that's a great idea. In a nice little box like that, with the tabs. How do I deal with receipts? I keep them in my purse til they are overflowing, then I take them all out and rip them to shreds. After I rip them to shreds, I then immediately realize that I needed to take something back and I just ripped up the receipt!

  6. I wish I did this and yes, I know I can but I also know, I won't. I like to keep an envelope on a small bulletin board in my kitchen. I drop receipts in there.

I want to tell you that I am enjoying your blog. I have been reading from your latest post and each post is interesting.
